Snow!

This past weekend we got about 2 feet of snow, which resulted in a two hour delayed opening today for schools and we're still due to receive more snow on Tuesday night into Wednesday, probably resulting in a day or two off.

The Superbowl was also this past weekend, and the most exciting part for me was seeing The Who perform at halftime, because they have always been my favorite band and I've seen them live twice. The commercials were all pretty funny and the game itself was fun to watch, but my friends and I didn't pay too much attention, seeing as we were playing Apples to Apples through most of the game and goofing off in general.

Going back to school today was tough after being trapped inside Friday night and all day Saturday due to the snow storm and being in a state of emergency, meaning we couldn't get out of the house. I got all of my homework done ahead of schedule, which I guess is a plus, though.

Well, the bell is about to ring, so until next time.. =]

Midterms

Midterms were last week, and thankfully, this stressful time has come to an end. All eight exams, finally over and done with, sadly my grades were less than satisfactory. It's now time for a whole new semester, a time to pick my grades back up, and transition from Health to Gym. A time to hopefully catch up on my sleep and regulate my sleeping pattern to make staying alert in school a much easier task.

With the new semester, comes an end to the bowling season and the chance to once again try to rest my knee in hopes that it will heal after this year and a half long injury. I'll be sad to see the season end but glad to have my afternoons and evenings back during the long, stressful school week.

Haddonfield

After reading the article Haddonfield Board Sued For Off-Campus Policy I realized that it's unfair to punish students for things they do in their life off-campus. While teenagers in High School should not be participating in harmful and illegal activities like drinking and doing drugs anyway, what they do outside of school isn't something they should be punished for inside of school, it's something that should be handled by their parents. It isn't fair to be kicked off of a sports team because you like to go to parties on the weekends with your friends after your team wins the big game.

I'm not a teen that approves of the kind of behavior that most teenagers are subjected to today, like the drinking and drugs, but if they get in trouble at all for something they are doing in society, they should be punished by their parents or the police, not by the school board and their coaches.
